T-WING SYSTEM (TWS™)
The "T" aperture allows line to flow freely through the wide top section on outcast, reducing the normally sharp angles, and friction that slow line flowing through a narrow aperture when exiting the reel.
For retrieve line drops in the narrow, lower channel of the "T-Wing" for even distribution across the spool width.

Hood Down Retrieve
Lower Profile - Less Casting Friction
When the clutch is depressed, the hood lifts slightly for casting, allowing line to flow freely through the wide, upper part of the "T".
On retrieve, the hood automatically lowers, channeling line through the narrow, lower part of the "T" for precision line winding.
On some ordinary reels, line slaps against the upper crossbar. T-Wing reels are lower than most, yet their design eliminates the frame crossbar for reduced line friction.
